Our School
Fight Zone Jiu-Jitsu Tennessee has something to offer anyone looking to better themselves. This is a beginner-friendly environment where kids can make big strides in personal development and adults can work on their own growth. Everyone – beginners, hobbyists, and high-level athletes – can find their space at our school and thrive. Whether you are in one of our traditional Jiu-Jitsu classes or our Muay Thai lessons, we emphasize building the mindset of a fighter. We want students to fight for what they want in life, and to always look to better themselves. Fight Zone Jiu-Jitsu Tennessee is here for students looking for an egoless environment and community where they can belong and become the best version of themselves. History
School founder and Professor Gabriel Rial went through a long journey before opening Fight Zone Jiu-Jitsu Tennessee in 2024. He began training in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as a high schooler in 2002. After a decade of training, Gabriel moved to the U.S. and began teaching and working with multiple schools. Coaching helped him learn English, eventually providing a path to open a school that can transform lives on and off the mat. He’s made it his mission to help build up shy kids’ confidence and communication skills to form strong individuals who make the most of each day. Every day, Gabriel continues to share the fighter mindset and make the school the best it can be for the community.

Professor Gabriel Rial
Head Instructor
3rd Degree Black Belt
Gabriel is a 3rd-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the elite Checkmat team, with over a decade of competition and coaching experience working with both kids and adults. He’s passionate about building a strong community centered on confidence, discipline, and practical, real-world jiu-jitsu.
As an instructor, Gabriel puts just as much emphasis on personal growth as he does on technique. Having grown from a shy student in Brazil to a gym owner in the U.S., he creates a supportive, family-like environment where students feel welcomed, challenged, and genuinely invested in; on and off the mats.

Programs
All our programs are designed to help students progress at their own pace and use martial arts to change their lives. We’ve built a well-rounded system where everyone can improve physically, mentally, and emotionally. Learn more about our training for kids and adults below!
Kids Jiu-Jitsu (ages 3–13)
Our Kids Jiu-Jitsu classes offer fun, structured training for child development and growth. We work on building a variety of life skills, including confidence, and discipline, while teaching high-level self-defense skills. The program is split into three classes for age-appropriate training.
- Mighty Mites (ages 3–5)
- PeeWee (ages 6–8)
- Juniors (ages 9–13)
Teen and Adult Jiu-Jitsu (ages 13+)
No matter where you are in your journey, anyone can join us at Fight Zone Jiu-Jitsu Tennessee. Our Teen and Adult Jiu-Jitsu program welcomes beginners, competitors, and entire families. Students learn high-quality techniques that blend fundamentals and gi and no-gi styles.
Muay Thai (ages 12+)
We don’t just teach Jiu-Jitsu! Our Muay Thai program provides students with stand-up training to expand their martial arts skills. We offer high-energy classes that develop power, conditioning, and real-world striking using authentic Muay Thai techniques.
